Virtually
Alive .
. . is a perfect name for this
project, as it was started in a U-RENT-
garage in Florida, with a live performance of the DC Blues
band using only six unmatched microphones and a rented DAT machine.
Originally done as a lark, enough people requested copies to
justify a limited release on cassette.
Although his band was thriving, a complex chain of events prompted
Dave's return to the San Diego area. Due to the popularity of the
original tape both in San Diego and in florida, an additional release
was needed. Dave met with WADE SMITH to discuss the possibility of
a CD. Taking an unalterable tape into the studio hardly seemed feasible
at first, but after hearing Dave's music, Wade agreed to help.
Making better what they could with a few cool digital tools and with
the addition of a few tracks from two old friends, ALIVE AND KICKIN'
is now available
as a CD. |
